Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television personality in the United States and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals simple and easy to master techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell also worked at the top New York restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food from a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. It is a huge influence on how Burrell cooks. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to improve the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world, as she regularly goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as speaker and mentor. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne often says that she feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion in life with others.
